@RavenXXX9  At the moment, this error is mostly due to an antivirus blocking Sims 4.  The issue is that the game's executable changed: TS4_x64.exe is now only for the DirectX 11 version, and the DirectX 9 version uses TS4_DX9_x64.exe.  So please set an exception for the latter in your antivirus, whether you use a third-party program or simply Windows Defender's Controlled Folder Access.

@puzzlezaddict Thank you so very much. I did what you recommended and it worked. I was feeling down that I couldn't play it but you restored not only my game but my sense of enjoyment as well. Thank you again. 🙂
