Did you put it in subfolders ? Do you have now package files in your mods folder ?
Yes they are in subfolders - I've only downloaded two custom content, which are both dresses. In my mods folder, I have only subfolders - Tops, dresses, bottoms, accessories, make up and hair. Only resource file is out of subfolders.

The default resource.cfg does not support subfolders.
Either not put them in subfolders or edit your resource.cfg that it does support them
This article has an example: http://sims4.crinrict.com/en/2014/08/mods-and-downloads/

Hi, I have been trying for about two hours. I've went to several forums and I have tried everything. The CC is not downloading into the game.
All I did was go to the sims4.com official website and went to their gallery and started to select items to download. IT said it would appear in "my downloads".
It shows up in my library, but when you hover the "download" button, it is grey and it says it cannot download to game.Any help?>>

You are missing the resource.cfg file
I don't think the game is using that folder or it would have created one
Are you using OneDrive ?
Search you hard drive if you have another user folder

I'm having the same problem. I have downloaded cas items and build mode items but nothing shows up. When I look at where it should list my cc it doesn't say anything. I've never used cc before but was getting bored of base game items so decided to try it. I dowloaded it all from The Sims Resource. It's all for Sims 4 and I have mods and cc enabled in my game. I deleted my resource.cfg file in my mods folder and I'm not sure how to get it back but cc didn't work before I deleted it. I'm wondering if it has anything to do with the fact my game and everything is saved on a portable drive that I plug into my laptop when I play. Also when I first downloaded my cc I didn't have a mods folder so I just made one. People are saying about subfolders, I have my cc in a custom content folder in my mods folder. Could someone please help?

so I have lots of mods that I've collected over time. Recently, my game wouldn't open, so I fixed that quickly and Sims worked again. It has a different opening screen now, but I guess that's okay. I'm facing another issue now. My mods are all in my mod folder (I had backed up my mods and put them all back into the mod folder), there are no sub-folders, and my resource.cfg is there. However, when I get into the game, the game acts as if my mods aren't in the folder. I was getting kinda upset, so I went into 7zip to test all of my mods and found that 7zip also thinks that my mods aren't in my folder. I don't know what to do, but I need my mods to fully enjoy the game. Help!

Is the option to enable cc ticked in your game options ? It gets unticked with patches to prevent corruption because of mods.
- Anonymous9 years ago
yes. First I did ticked enable cc, then came back and it didn't work, so I went ahead and I ticked enable script mods as well. It still doesn't work.
UPDATE: Okay, so I had moved the EA folder to the wrong place apparently, and I tried again. I put all my CC back into the mods folder and tried again but now the game wont open. In other words, it won't even play if I have CC
UPDATE: I screwed around some more and fixed it. thanks anyways!
- Anonymous9 years agoWhenever I try to download hair and add it to the game, it comes up like this...

When you downloaded the CC, in the description online did it say "Mesh Needed?"
Yes?
You need to download a separate mesh and put that in Mods folder too I think.

Hi. I've been having a lot of trouble with my cc's. I've been downloading them off of TSR of SFS, I put them into the mods folder, the resource file is there, but nothing is showing up. I have the cc and mods enabled in game and I had a whole library a week ago. I cleaned out a bit and all of it is gone and it won't show up. I think it's because my .package files download as internet explorer but I don't know how to fix it. I've tried compressing into zip, I've done the thing where you generate a new mods folder, I've done everything it feels.

I dont have a resource, cgp file in my mods folder! what should i do.
- crinrict8 years agoHero+
It should be auto-created when you start the game. If it does not appear after starting the game, then the game is probably using a different folder than you are looking at.
Are you using oneDrive ?

So, I downloaded a whole lot of cc from many different websites, and a lot of just won't show up. I don't have any subflders or anything (do I have to?). It also seems to only be the Zip files that aren't showing up. Are they outdated or am I doing something wrong?

I don't have a mods folder.

Its weird because CC started working for me when i first started the game, I made a couple of sims with the CC and then the next time i loaded the game back up the sims had disappeared and the CC i had used to make them had gone from the game too. If anybody has an explanation it would be greatly appreciated.

Which sims had disappeared? The ones with cc? Did their house and everything disappear? And was your save still there?
- 7 years ago@crinrict Do you have to add the resource file into the CC folder? I don't have it in the folder but I have it in the folder 'Mods'.
- crinrict7 years agoHero+@coolulo What cc folder ? You just need a mods folder and then you can nest folders 5 levels deep to keep them organized. You only need one resource.cfg file

I have a solution that worked for me.
I transferred all my mods out of the folder and the tray out of its folder.
I started my game and unticked the mods in game options then I pressed restore defaults in the bottom corner.
I then exited my game and put my mods and tray back where they were but I deleted the resource cfg file in the mods folder.
I started my game, reticked the mods in game options and then exited the game again.
I then restarted my game and all my mods were working.
