Downloading Sims 4

Hi, my external hard drive had accidentally disconnected while my game was loading and now every time I try to use my hard drive it won’t work. So I decided to buy a new one with more GB but I was wondering will I be able to redownload my sims 4 game onto my new hard drive or will I have to get a whole new account since technically my old hard drive has the data? I’ve bought a lot of expansion packs so I don’t want to have to buy them again.

Before installing the game though, please make sure the drive is formatted as NTFS.  While it's not strictly necessary for installing the game, there can be other issues with FAT32/exFAT drives.  Changing the format requires erasing the drive, so it's best to do that now if required.

To check, and possibly format the drive, click Windows key-X and select Disk Management.  You'll see the format and various options there.
