EA App installed, but cannot find

Im trying to play the sims, I played yesterday no problem. Today the ea app didn't open. When I click to open it, it says it doesn't exist and to delete the shortcut. when i click to open via the sims it tells me origin isn't installed so i cannot open it. It also does this when i try to run as administrator. I only have windows firewall no third party etc. Ea app shows up in my control panel under programs so it is definitely installed.

I have tried searching it to see if it was moved somehow but it only shows up in one location.
Any thoughts? Thanks

also, if i uninstall and reinstall i am going to have to reinstall all of my packs which ive already had to do numerous times because of this app so id really like to avoid that this time. it takes far too long.

  • After a few hours trying different things I thought may be similar I found something that works.

I installed origin, when I tried to open the game via origin I got an ea popup that said install ea app? So I clicked that just to see, even though it already is on my computer, and when I clicked install it then said already installed, repair?

Clicked repair and after 15 minutes of repairing it seems to open just fine now.

I wasn't able to repair before obviously since I couldn't get my computer to acknowledge it was even downloaded let alone open it.

Hopefully this helps someone having the same issue.

What happens when you start EA App by clicking the program file. (not any of the shortcuts)

You can also try to run the updater.

  • It tells me it can't be found

The updater as well was saying it couldn't be found
