EA app not syncing with Steam for Sims 4

I just reinstalled Sims 4 through Steam, but for some reason the EA app (which i also just reinstalled) will not recognize Steam . When I launch the game through Steam, the EA app launches, Steam goes to validate the game, then nothing happens. No matter how many times I try to and launch the game the same happens.

 When I look at the EA app and go to My Library, there are 4 games there that I own. 3 of them have the Steam logo in the top left of the game icon, but Sims 4 does not. Before posting here I googled this issue and tried all the suggested options.

  • cleared cache in EA app
  • reinstalled both the app and the game
  • repaired/validated game files
  • ran as admin
  • checked firewall
  • restarted computer
  • unlinked and relinked my Steam account and my EA account

As I said, 3 of my 4 games recognize the Steam connection, but sims 4 does not. 

I have bought game packs through both Steam and the EA app, this wasn't an issue last time I played the game, but I thought it worth mentioning since if I download through the EA app I will only have the packs available that I bough through EA and not through Steam.

    Ravingbantha​  Have you cleared the EA App's cache and/or uninstalled and reinstalled it since you unlinked and relinked your Steam and EA Accounts?  If not, please do that now.  You shouldn't need to reinstall Sims 4; at most, a repair (Steam > Sims 4 > Properties > Installed Files > Verify integrity of game files) should be sufficient, but you can of course reinstall the game if you want.

    If you do reinstall Sims 4, I'd suggest doing a clean uninstall, as described here:

    But before going through all that effort, try running both Steam and the EA App as an admin: right-click each desktop shortcut and select "Run as administrator."  Make sure both have loaded fully before you try to open Sims 4.
