EA app opening instead of the sims after clicking run

When I run the sims via shortcut or EA app, it will think for a bit and then just load EA app again. There are some topics for this but nothing works. I tried everything listed there.

@jockokhchcvp  If you've run Sims 4 on this computer before, and you never deleted the user folder, it has to be somewhere.  Please check both Users > your username > Documents and Users > your username > OneDrive > Documents.  You can access both by clicking This PC in the left panel of a File Explorer window and then double-clicking the C drive.  If you do find the folder, please let me know in which location.

Your dxdiag lists a few Sims 4 crashes that all point to a component of Windows.  It's unlikely to be corrupt, considering your computer works at all, but still, it's worth running a couple of basic checks of your system files:

    • Hit Windows key-X
    • Choose either “PowerShell (Administrator)” or “Windows Terminal (Administrator),” whichever option is offered
    • Inside the window that appears, copy and paste “DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth” without quotes, and enter
    • The system will start validating soon. If it throws an error, please list it here
    • After it reaches 100%, hit Windows key-X again
    • Again, choose “PowerShell (Administrator)” or “Windows Terminal (Administrator)”
    • Inside the window, copy and paste “sfc /scannow” without quotes, and enter
    • Post the message you receive here

Restart your computer, hit Windows key-i, select Update & Security, and click the box to check for updates.  If any install, restart again afterwards.

Try again to play, and if you cant, please create a new admin Windows account.  Make it local, as in, don't link it to your Microsoft account.  (You'll be asked to answer some security questions instead.)  Try to play in that account, which you should be able to do without reinstalling anything, and let me know how it goes.

  • @jockokhchcvp  If you haven't already, please try playing in a clean user folder.  Move the entire Sims 4 folder out of Documents > Electronic Arts and onto your desktop, and when you launch the game, if it launches, a clean folder will spawn with no content.  (Your saves and other content will be intact in the folder you moved but temporarily not read by the game.)  Don't add anything to the new folder yet; just let me know whether you can get far enough to start a new save and play in live mode for a bit.

If that doesn't help, please run a dxdiag and attach it to a post.

There are no new updates. DISM.exe command in powershell is stuck on 62.3% on the first try, and on the second try it said "The restore operation completed successfully.
The operation completed successfully." I created new admin account, and the sims opened. What can I do to make it run on my main accont?

My response was Windows Resource Protection found corrupt files and successfully repaired them. For online repairs, details are included in the CBS log file located at windr\logs\CBS\CBS.log. For example C:\WIndows\logs\CBS\CBS.log. For offline repairs, details are included in the log file provided by the /OFFLOGFILE flag. PS C:WIndows\system32

  • princessghost123  What exactly is your issue?  Does the game start if you try to open it through the EA App?  And did a clean user folder help?  If you haven't tried it yet, please do so now.
