EA Background Services Taking Up 99% of Memory, Unable to Update Game

Hello all!

I've been having some issues with my game as of late. Whenever I try to download the latest version of the game, EA Background Services takes up nearly 100% of my memory (screenshot included,) causing my computer to lag to high hell. The update stays stuck at 90% (screenshot included) and will not complete. I am unable to pause or cancel the download, or close EA itself unless through task manager.

I've never had any issues with either EA or Sims 4 before this, although I'm assuming it's my computer's fault.

Below are the screenshots mentioned, as well as my DxDiag.

  • @itsbesummer  The EABackgroundService is barely taking up any memory itself, so something else is actually eating RAM and hammering the disk.  Please sort the Task Manager's list by RAM use (most to least usage), then by Disk, and post screenshots of the first few entries for each.

Your dxdiag lists a couple of BlueScreens related to the graphics driver, or one of them.  Have you noticed these, and if so, in what contexts do they happen?
