EA games freezing computer and crashing it
This is mostly with the Sims (with it being the only EA game I really play and all) but once I opened Dungeon Keeper and it happened upon startup, not even able to get to the title screen and I haven't attempted to open that since.
Recently my computer (a Lenovo ideapad y700) has started to freeze after a random period of time of playing the Sims 4. When it freezes everything on my computer stops working, my mousepad, keyboard, and touchscreen. If I have a mouse plugged in that will still work fine and be able to click from window to window just fine. The only way for this to stop is to hold the power button on my computer and wait for it to turn off. I've been chatting with help for hours and hours, 4-5 different times, and I've tried so much to fix it. I even thought it was fixed until today while I was using my computer (for the first time in a few days) the Sims was still up in the background and my computer all of the sudden just froze.
I have:
-deleted the game and reinstalled (manually and through origin)
-cleared the cache
-cleared any mods
-updated origin and sims
-updated origin in beta version and regular
-uninstalled and reinstalled origin
-opened origin in compatibility mode
And a few other things I can't remember.
This only happens with EA games and is not only the Sims though most of the help I talk to has acted as if it were. I don't play the sims that often but when I do I play for a very long time at a time, and this is just a huge nuisance and I don't want anything worse to happen to my computer. If anyone could help I would really really appreciate that.
