Missing Saves from Library

Hi, here's the issues I discovered. I am unsure how long they been missing because I just noticed this week. My saved sims 4 library  of any builds I have done, sims made, and anything saved from early 2025 to 2023 when I started is gone. Only a couple random households, lots, and recent downloads are left. However when I checked my sims 4 tray files they're still files dating back to 2023. Is there anyway to reload my library and get back everything I've lost?

I've tried removing my mods and cc. I've tried repairing. I've looked under cc. I've removed the tray, created a new one, launched the game, and reinsert my tray. I uninstalled One Drive and went through it, nothing.

Please I need any help or advice. I'm beyond frustrated with how many years of work is missing. I don't upload everything to gallery because my legacy families and some builds are personal.

  • Patchy_AK  Please post a screenshot of the contents of the Tray folder, as in, I'd like to see the names and sizes of the files that aren't showing up.  Please sort the folder's contents by date first (click the date modified header, then click it again to reverse the order if necessary) so the files are grouped.  I don't need to see every single file, just a sampling.

Please also list the full path to these files, the Location listed when you right-click one and select Properties > General.  You can write [username] instead of your actual username if you like.

  • Patchy_AK  These files are all in the OneDrive folder.  Uninstalling or unlinking OneDrive doesn't delete this folder or move its contents elsewhere, so you'd need to do that manually.  First though, please make sure the game is not reading this folder anymore.  Here's how to find the folder it's using:

The other thing that stands out is that some files are missing from your oldest saved households or builds.  I don't know whether the newer ones are intact since these are the 2022 files, but do you see how you only have .bpi files for many entries?  A single saved build should also include a .trayitem and a .blueprint file; the .bpi files are not enough on their own.

Hopefully this is either an oddity of how the files are listed or is specific to these oldest files.  You'll know once you move this data to the correct Tray folder.  I would also suggest moving only the newest handful of files first, then the rest in batches.  Move everything with the same time stamp at once so you always have complete sets of files to check.

I'll try this and let you know. Oh my bad I started playing in 2022 but lost my old pc after exploding the graphics card  and didn't start playing again until late 2023. I thought I sent 23-24 files my bad I'm running on little sleep.

Question um so in EA I have sims 4 set for driver B but this is what it looks like. However my OneDrive documents folder has everything. Can I move everything or will it break?

  • Patchy_AK  You've installed the game to your B drive.  That's fine but is also not what I was asking.  Please list the location of the user folder as the game sees it, which is what's described in the link I posted.
