Electronic Arts folder keeps downloading to my document folder

Hello,

So I want to download my sims to my D drive to try and save space. I have moved my EA file location to my D drive and when I installed The Sims 4, I installed it onto the D drive. However, when I open the application it creates a new electronic arts folder even after deleting and pasting it into my D drive.

I have uninstalled and reinstalled many times but still no luck. I also tried following instructions online such as right clicking the file and then selecting its properties but then the next step is to go on location, but that tab doesn't appear for me.

What am I missing?

Many thanks

  • @MadamWalsh  Sims 4 will always create the user folder in Documents > Electronic Arts.  This is separate from the program files, which you can install wherever you like, in your case on D.  If you want to move the user folder, you'll need to create a symbolic link:

You can move the user folder to almost anywhere, but do NOT combine it with the game's program files.  This will cause problems sooner or later and also makes troubleshooting standard issues a lot more complicated.

If you need further help with the process, please post a screenshot of the Command Prompt window showing the command you entered and the result.
