Forum Discussion
I have literally done EVERYTHING that EA support/other simmers/forums have told me, I'm going to loose my mind. I have updated all mods, updated the game, repaired it god knows how many times, un-installed and re-installed Origin AND Sims 4 twice, allowed access to the administrator, checked the virus and protection tab and made sure there was access, tried to do a hard scan but I don't have a Tools tab in my properties. I can get into Origin fine, but as soon as I click play it comes up with the "igoproxy64.exe- Application error. This application was unable to start correctly (0xc000007b). Click ok to close the application" error message. I haven't been able to play the Sims 4 in weeks because it just won't work! EA support didn't help. I am going insane - does anyone have any other suggestions or can honestly help me with this PLEASE?!

I've just done a full reset on my laptop because I kept receiving the 0xc000007b error message. I've done the reset, and now I am trying to download Origin however its NOW coming up with your original error messages which are MSVCP140.dll and VCRUNTIME140.dll (tried twice and has happened both times). How do I fix this? I did a full update too but now that its reset it updated anyway so the laptop shouldn't need updating. Thanks 🙂

@adermc93 The errors you're seeing are related to Origin not properly installing the necessary VC++ runtimes, again. You can download them directly from Microsoft:
https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/2977003/the-latest-supported-visual-c-downloads
You'll need both the x86 and x64 runtimes, but not the _arm version. Restart your computer before trying to install Origin.

Hey! Im following this forum because I had the EXACT issue installing Origin that you have. After a factory reset on my PC, those two dll messages showed up when I tried installing origin. Installed both of them, then recieved the xc000007b error you are getting. went through 8 different "fixes" for it until Origin would finally install. logged in, fully installed Sims 4, and then got stuck at the point you ORIGINALLY were at, with the xc000007b error appearing when attempting to LAUNCH sims. Am now stuck at that point, having already tried every single other suggestion this forum has said, every step, in multiple different orders. the reset is was CAUSED my issue. so once you go through the steps of fixing the "dll" messages, i wont be surprised if you end up stuck at the exact point i am, which is not being able to launch the game

@awkwardelf I'm not sure what you've tried already, but have you disabled your antivirus and run both Origin and Sims 4 as an admin? (Right-click on each .exe or shortcut and select "Run as administrator.") If not, it's worth trying now.
If that doesn''t help, please try playing in a clean boot:
https://www.windowscentral.com/how-clean-boot-windows-10
After restarting, go through the Task Manager's background processes list and end any process that doesn't absolutely need to be active, for example MSI Afterburner or RGB software.
If that doesn't help either, please run a dxdiag and attach it to a post.
