Error code 3 and unresponsive mouse/keypad

Hi! I can’t find any problems related to this, so, I’m unsure how to fix it. When opening my HP laptop, my keypad and mouse both work. I get onto the sims and my keypad stops working. Then, my mouse eventually stops working before it can load the game. This is also linked to my problem of Error code 3, that I had been attempting to fix. (Doesn’t let the game load once pressed the triangluar ‘play’ button). The problem overlaps eachother and the entire thing is continuously not working. I do have mods (cc) and everything is updated. I really want to keep my gameplay, and I have multiple backup folders from when it hasn’t worked previously- please help!
