external hard drive issues
Hello! I have not been able to find a solid answer on the internet to this problem, so I wanted to reach out to you all. I love playing the Sims but it sure eats up space. Therefore I have uninstalled it completely (I think) and I am trying to reinstall it to an external hard drive. I have changed the Origin settings so that everything downloads/ installs to the external hard drive. This is as far as I have gotten, because every time I get to the downloading part I get various errors saying things like "Origin is not able to download to D:\Origin\The Sims 4\Data\Client\ClientDeltaBuild2.package" or some variation of the .package file. It then below says to check that the location is available. As far as I can tell, the folder is available and open and has other .package files in it. I am pretty baffled on what to do... It seems like a permissions error, but I am wondering if someone has any experience with a similar issue. Thanks!
@chlojs44 Try clearing Origin's cache:

and restarting your computer.
Given that you've just started reinstalling, another option would be to install on your internal drive and then move Origin to the external. (It's more of a headache than just installing directly onto the external but less than working around a persistent error.) Within your Origin game library, you can right-click on the Sims 4 icon and select Move Game, that is once it's installed.
By the way, if you've installed Origin on the external as well, specifically within the Origin folder, it's best to create a new folder for Sims 4, for example D:\Origin Games or D:\Sims.
