Family and game is gone

My whole game and family are gone! I went into my sims 4 and it just says new game. I went into my folders and went to save, and it just has a folder called scratch that is empty. I've been playing with this family for months ☹️

  • I have this issue too--I just opened the game for the first time in a few months and the Load Game option isn't available. When I check the EA folder, all my saves are still there, but the game won't let me load or play any of them. At first I thought it was because I changed my EA name, but the files are still on my computer. Using Windows10

  • @6464646564644 and @vanessashoe  Please find the Sims 4 folder the game is using with this in-game method:

    https://sims4.crinrict.com/eng/2018/07/how-to-find-your-user-folder/

And list the entire file path here.  You can write [username] instead of your username if you want, but please leave the rest of the file path intact.

@6464646564644  Please also let me know whether your computer runs Windows or macOS and whether OneDrive or iCloud, respectively, is running.

@vanessashoe  If the file path you find with the above method doesn't match the location of your saves, you just need to move the saves to the correct folder.

@6464646564644  Do you mean you Bootcamped your Mac and are running Windows on it, or something else?  If your content disappeared from within Windows, check OneDrive's version of Documents for your saves and other missing content.

If the content disappeared from macOS, please see this thread:

    https://answers.ea.com/t5/Technical-Issues-Mac/READ-FIRST-Saves-CC-Mods-or-Library-items-disappeared/td-p/10242133

And either way, please let me know how much free storage your computer has.  In macOS, you can find it under About This Mac > Storage; in Windows, open a File Explorer window and click This PC in the left panel.

I have enough space. I actually started a new family now. With the new family, I see saves in the folder. I don't have onedrive for some reason though.

@6464646564644  If you are in fact playing in Windows, you'd only have access to OneDrive if you'd linked a Microsoft account with your Windows user account.  You'd have been prompted to do so during the initial installation of Windows, but you could have skipped that step.

If you'd like to troubleshoot further, please let me know, and confirm which operating system you're using to play Sims 4.
