Gallery is Broken - Slow, Not Loading Content

The gallery has been unusable for several days. It is beyond slow, struggling to load user icons and failing to load 95% of download previews. The majority of content is shown as a red "X". Whatever previews do manage to load, I can't actually download - I get an error message telling me the items could not be located.

I have followed every troubleshooting guide I could find. Here's what I've tried so far:

  1. Updated all of my mods.
  2. Removed the UI Cheats Extension mod, as it is known to cause issues.
  3. Moved my mods folder to the desktop and cleared my caches.
  4. Repaired the game.
  5. Disabled Origin In-game.
  6. Renamed the Sims 4 folder to "Sims 4 Old" and loaded a fresh folder.
  7. Backed up the "Old" folder and then Uninstalled / Reinstalled Sims 4.
  8. Repaired the game again.
  9. Cleared caches for Origin.
  10. Repaired the game again.

I should note that I had a few other problems that I managed to fix throughout my troubleshooting. The known Reshade camera spinning. A black plumbob glitch that didn't resolve until I reinstalled the game. Not being able to click on anything in live mode, having to swap to build mode to save, and having options completely disappear from the screen when switching back to live mode. I assume the latter was caused by UI Cheats. (I hope so anyway!)

I'm at a loss. I know it's not an internet problem because I have 100 Mbps down, which should be plenty. My only theory is that it might be connected to the newest Windows 10 update. The latest Sims 4 update was released around the same time I was prompted to update Windows 10, which is also when my problems started occurring.

Since most players don't have this problem, it looks like your computer, but rather your graphics card has something to do with this error and you could be right. Windows 10 update will remove anything that is not compatible with it, including graphics card drivers. so check if you have still these drivers

    I don't work for EA

  • Thank you for your help. My GTX 1080 drivers were up to date according to both my PC and Geforce Experience. I reinstalled through Geforce in case they didn't install properly the first time, and now my gallery seems to work again. It's still on the slower side, but at least the content is actually loading and can be used. Hoping it stays this way, lol.

@kreatora I'm having the same issue that @TitaniumHeartz had.
Recently my hard drive stopped working and I had to switch to another one. Now I use an HD SSD. One month ago the game and the gallery worked fine, but now the game crashes, glitch and the gallery is slow, doesn't load the images and often appears an "X". I believe the problem is not in the computer.

You can rename the Sims 4 folder to "Sims 4 Old" and load a fresh folder to eliminate the possibility that this is an error of the game.

But I think this is rather a card drivers problem.
Could you post your Computer's DxDiag?

There are two problems with your computer.
The first is definitely the lack of free space on drive C. You only have 3GB of free space. This may also be the reason for the failed Windows updates. It just had nowhere to install.
What's worse, you don't have another drive to move any programs there.
Although your computer uses Windows graphics drivers instead of Intel drivers, it is no longer important in this situation. The only solution is either to buy a disk at least 240GB and should fulfill the functions of C drive, or to start think about a replaced this computer with a new one.
