game and DLC disappeared from collection when installed from steam

I had The Sims 4 for years, before EA Play was annouced

I saw "now free to play" on steam so I clicked and thought nothing at it

the problem is, I had vampires, cats and dogs, and werewolf DLCs, and some stuff packs too I think

I logged in today and it prompted be to update EA app

and now it only say "managed through steam" and all the DLC I had on Origin is completely gone

what can I do?

@KateHanami   This is one of those one way or the other. First let me say that Origin is the DRM for this game so if you play the Origin version or the Steam version w/ Origin DLC Origin is still going to be running. The EA version of the game installs different then the Steam version install. I think if you install the Steam version and link to Origin, the Origin version gets uninstalled because the two versions don't play well together.. Then when you start the Steam version it should ask you to link to EA and the DLC from your Origin account should install to the Steam version. BTW - Sims 4 is free to play on the EA app. Also when you pay for the game and DLC you don't own the game - what you are getting is a license to use the software according to the EULA (remember that pesky thing - end user license agreement). The DRM is the same - If you have the Steam version you have to have a Steam account to play. If you have the EA account you have to have an Origin account to play. I have bothand have no problems.

@roberta591 you kinda mixed things a little
1 I bought the Origin version long ago while still was paid
2 I bought a few DLC over the years
3 I installed the F2P game from Steam
4 EA app asked for an update today
5 only Steam Version on my collection, no EA App or Origin version, and no DLC
6 I launched The Sims from EA App, it launched Steam, and Steam tried to launch EA App

I'm having a similar issue, though not quite as convoluted.  I was playing Sims 4 on the EA app and acquired the Get to Work Pack.  I later discovered that I could get it on Steam, which I did, as I have a lot of my games through there already.  Steam launched the EA app and my saved game came up, but it is saying that I need to get the Get to Work pack.  I go to click on the link in game to do so and it says I already own it, and that a restart is required.  I have restarted the game multiple times through Steam and it keeps saying the same thing.  I have also told it to look for any needed downloads, only to be told that everything is up to date.  Is there a way to get a code to tell Steam that I already have this pack?

@EA_Solaire both are corrected, I have bought the base game on Origin a few years ago and few DLC over the years
the issue happened when I installed on Steam and updated through EA App
both the Origin version and the DLC I have in that version is gone, and it only let's me launch the version I own in Steam that means without any DLC as I did not purchase any
and I'll not risk buying a different DLC on Steam "just to test it" and risk have to buy the ones I already own again

    @KateHanami

It sounds like you may be logging into the EA App with the wrong EA account- please check your Order History in the app for any purchase history of your DLC. If you're not seeing any purchase history for any DLC there, it means you're on the wrong account, and you'll need to login to the EA App with the same account that you originally purchased all your content on.

I got the game through EA. Then later acquired it via Steam.  When I log into the game on Steam, it opens up the EA app, and shows my saved games from the EA app. But it warns me that my items from the Get to Work pack aren't there and my saved game might get corrupted.
