Game crashes on launch after update 4/29/25

here is the crash file

cagiorda83​  Please remove your saves folder from Documents > Electronic Arts > The Sims 4 and try to load the game.  If it works, create a new save; no need to spend much time on it.  Save your progress, quit, and move your old saves from the old folder to the new one.  Make sure to renumber the newest save, that you just created, if it conflicts with one of your older saves.

Try again to load the game, and if you can get to the Main Menu, use Load Game to select an older save and play it.  If the save is fine, you can continue playing it and save your progress; it should work again going forward.

At least for me, this doesn't solve the problem, or only fixes it partly. I can create a new save if my save folder is empty or I delete it, and I can load that save, but as soon as I add my old saves back into the folder, it crashes again before getting into the main menu.

This isn't working how many people is this happening too how long before ea fixes it i cant loose my saves and they arent backed up to any drives

igraine90​  To be clear, the game loads fine with your old saves removed, but if you put them back, the game crashes the first time you try to load it at all?  Or does the game work until you try to load an old save?  If the latter, would you be willing to share a save?  I asked for one here too:

ajjilolme​  Are you also able to play if and only if you remove your saves files?

puzzlezaddict​ The game crashes if I try to load it at all if my old saves are in the saves folder yeah! :') Does not get to a point where I could pick a save.

Mines the same, taking my mods folder out doesn't make a difference. I've gone through every version of every 'fix' that's been mentioned so far and nothing, the only thing that gets me past the initial loading screen is completely removing my saves folder. As soon as I put my previous saves back in it's right back to crashing before the main menu. I've been playing one of these saves for years man, it's survived a new pc twice and an official update is what's gonna make me lose it? ridiculous

I am having the same issue. Can you please describe what you mean? I've never removed my saves before, what am I removing and adding?

hii im not sure if this will work for you but i deleted one of my save files and it seemed to help

i went to my folders or idk what its called i went there, Documents > Electronic Arts > The sims 4 > Saves

basically i just took everything out and put it into a different folder and then after i slowly put them back in until i found the save that was crashing my game. Probably not the same for you idk if this will even work but for xample my save 13 was corrupted or something and after deleting it i was able to play again

this update corrupted all of my save files, none of them work.
