I play fairly regularly on the weekends, and for the last two~three months, I've had constant crashing to desktop. Sometimes it's less than 5 mins, sometimes I can play for about an hour. I don't use mods, I own all expansion packs, game packs, and stuff packs. I was hoping the most recent update would solve this issue, but unfortunately it did not.
When this first started happening, I took the approach of moving my save file out and starting an entire new game. For a while that worked, but after a few hours the crashing began again. I've gone through and updated my drivers to the best of my knowledge, and I've taken most of the recommended steps that you can find on various forums/blogs/reddit etc (repairing game, make a new save folder as mentioned above, ensuring everything on the computer is upgraded, etc etc)
I've attached my DxDiag here in the hopes that someone can help me figure out a solution. Thanks!

stephipie Thanks for the dxdiag. A few of the errors it lists are crashes of the USB 3 driver. These are typically not serious—it may be enough to unplug all USB 3 devices and restart your computer, then reconnect whatever you'll be using. So please do that. And since these errors are showing up frequently, let me know whether Sims 4 is installed on an external drive.
Two of the errors in your dxdiag are crashes of the graphics driver, so please do a clean uninstall and reinstall of the driver with the method described here:
If you get another crash after doing both, please look for new errors in the Reliability Monitor. Click Windows key-R and enter "perfmon /rel" without quotes, and you'll see a chart of errors and updates with a column for each day. Today is on the right.
Look for an error that happened at exactly the time of your most recent Sims 4 crash. If you find one, double-click it to see more details, then copy that info and paste it into a reply here. If you don't see a new error, check back in an hour or so—the Reliability Monitor doesn't always update right away.
