game crashing and pie menu lag

hello! so, as i have mentioned in the title, my game crashes (in live mode, build mode, even cas) after a while(aprox. 2 mintumes- 15 minutes) and the pie menu(the interaction menu when you click on any sim)doesn't even appear/lags, even sometimes when i click on the ground to go somewhere, it does appear, but it takes some time. My game doesn't lag or anything, it simply does that. I do play with mods and CCs, but i did remove them and it still did the same, i even repaired the game, after repairing it, the game did go smoothly, but then it started to do this crashing-lag pie menu again! i did take a video about the pie menu thing, the ground interaction here isn't that late, but it usually is and the game crashes shortly after taking the video. I don't know how to post it to show what i mean, but i hope y'all got it from what i have said.

@applepiedreams  The Sims 4 crashes in your dxdiag are from the DirectX 11 version, so either you didn't successfully switch back to DX9 or the game closed for a reason that doesn't generate a Windows error report.  Please check the version in the lower-right corner of the Main Menu: you should see DX9 after the game version number (1.107.151.1020).  If you're still running DX11, switch back to DX9.

If that's not the issue, please try again to play, wait until the game crashes, and look for new errors in the Reliability Monitor.  Hit Windows key-R and enter "perfmon /rel" without quotes, and you'll see a chart of errors and updates with a column for each day.  Today is on the right.

Look for an error that happened at exactly the time of your most recent attempt to play Sims 4.  If you find one, double-click it to see more details, then copy that info and paste it into a reply here.  If you don't see a new error, check back in an hour or so—the Reliability Monitor doesn't always update right away.

  • What platform are you playing on ?

    Try the following

    • Close the game
    • Rename Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4 to Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4_Old
    • Repair the game
    • Start the game. All your content will be gone now as the game created a new folder. All your saves/.. is still in the old folder so not to worry. Be aware that your claimed event rewards will also be gone for the time being but you will get them back with your other things.
    • Start a new save game
    • Check if you still have the error
    • Report back with your results for further steps on how to get your stuff back.
  • thank you for the help! it works perfectly fine, i will assume it has to be ones or more mods, but i don't understand why after removing the mods and deleting "localthumbcache.package" the game will crash and have that specific pie menu/interaction lag, what could i do?

EDIT 1: apparently it crashes even without mods! i decided to stay longer in-game(i would exit game if i would see no issues after 5-10 minutes)becase i wanted to test it again, thank you for the help again!

EDIT 2: i don't know why am i having a feeling it may have to do something with the directx 11.1 update thing, i didn't try to switch back to directx 9 yet

the game didn't switch successfully to dx9. I tried switching from the options menu > graphics. When i go back to graphics, it appears that the dx9 version is being in use, but at the right lower corner next to the game version it says that the dx11 version is in use, what can i do in this instance? And what can i do to be able to use the dx11 version if that will be possible? I am okay to use whatever dx version as long as it doesn't crash.

EDIT: it works! i had to restart it a couple more times, my laptop too! now i run the dx9 version and i am so happy! thank you for the help, both of you!
