EleanorMuffin Thanks for the info and the dxdiag. I've seen a few reports of this after the patch, and I don't know what's causing it yet, but there are a couple patterns so far: HP gaming laptops and high DPI scalings. These may not hold up, but they suggest a place to start, which is by setting your DPI scaling to 96 (100%). Here's how:

If that doesn't help, try forcing Sims 4 to use only your Nvidia graphics card. Right-click the desktop, select the Nvidia Control Panel, choose Manage 3D Settings > Global settings, and choose the high-performance Nvidia processor. You'll want to undo this setting after you test, and if it helps, apply it under Program settings for TS4_x64 and TS4_Launcher_x64.
If that doesn't help either, please try playing in a clean boot:

The one service to leave enabled is the EABackgroundService, which the EA App needs in order to run. Disable the rest as described.
When you reboot your computer, go through the Task Manager's background processes list shutting down any service that doesn't absolutely need to be running, for example some HP services might still be enabled. If you accidentally kill a critical process and it doesn't restart on its own, just reboot your computer again.
Don't open anything other than Sims 4 and the EA App while testing, not even a browser window.
