Game Lagging

Last night, my game started lagging horribly. I have tried removing my mods (using no CC), and even reinstalled the game but nothing works. I'm on win7 PC. I'm attaching Dxdiag file.

Try resetting your user files as described in the factory reset described in this post: http://answers.ea.com/t5/The-Sims-4/FAQ-Troubleshooting-Steps-amp-Known-Issues/m-p/3621199

You won't loose anything. Just make sure to not delete any files  and make a backup.

Try on a new game with nothing added back first (start new game). If it works, put back your save game and try again. If it still works, you can start putting stuff back.

    • Options.ini (or just re-set all your settings manually)
    • Tray Folder
    • Screenshots/Videos/Custom music
    • Rest of the save games (leave out slot_00000001.save which is the autosave)
    • Custom content like clothing, hair, skins, make up ....
    • Mods (one by one, making sure they all still work)

The rest does not need putting back, cause they are mostly cache files that recreate or log files that are not needed for the game.

  • Could you try a new game for testing purposes to see if it's a general issue or something with that particular save game ?

Already done that and it is a general issue. I've tried a new game and other households in the game. Nothing works :/ I've also tried going offline and deactivating Origin in the game.

  • Some time ago MSI (Microstar International) used to be on the cheap end of the table. The MS-7817 is a micro ATX size motherboard. It is no longer a current MSI product. Everything else looks good. The GTX 960 w/ 2Gb should be powerful enough not to have problems at 1080p. Hopefully you have a at least a 400W power supply (a 500 would be better). That card should be able to maintain a reasonable frame rate. There has been many complaints about poor frame rates with high end cards. I'm wondering if the latest video driver is not good (wouldn't be the first time). Nvidia has a driver dated 5/2/2016. Try the newer video driver please.

I tried starting the game this morning and now it works fine 😕 I have no idea what happened. After I found out it worked without lagging, i tried installing the packs, then checked again. Still worked. Then I added my saves. Still worked. Then I added MC Command Center, and it still worked. Now i've got another problem though. When I move my curser over sims, it rarely shows the age group of them anymore. I restart the game and it shows, and then five minutes later it again doesn't show. It's very annoying :/

Did you try to remove MC Command Center? Do you have the latest version - 2.9.0? As this is a mod you will have to contact the creator of the mod if you continue to have problems.

add:Sometimes Windows becomes corrupt and all that is needed is a cold restart of the computer (most of the time).

That's a known bug. Should have a report in the bug forum

roberta591 - I have tried removing MC Command Center and it is updated to 2.9.0

I have also tried restarting the computer.

The problem with the shown age group has only started occuring to me today.

Many people have it. It's a bug. Nothing you can do about it.
