Game not Launching from EA app after Update.

Sul sul everyone!

After downloading the most recent update and the new Lovestuck DLC my game won't launch. Anytime I go to click play, the EA browser closes for 1-2 seconds, then a launching game prompt comes up, and finally the EA app comes back up. I'm looking for any kind of advice or help! I've already done basic troubleshooting. I've also scoured google and the EA answers HQ for any sort of help and couldn't find anything other than basic troubleshooting I've already done.

Things I've already tried troubleshooting:

  • Removed ALL my mods
  • Cleared my game cache
  • Removed my Sims 4 folder to create a new one upon launch
  • Restarted my PC
  • Uninstalled and reinstalled the EA app
  • Repaired the sims $
  • Uninstalled my razer apps (there was an error going around earlier this year that the solution was uninstalling synapse.

I've never encountered something like this and just want to enjoy the new pack. Any help would be great! Thanks in advance.

    @LittlePinkDino16  Please disable Game Mode and Game Bar, both under Windows Settings > Gaming.

    Please also try playing in a clean boot:

    The one service to leave enabled is the EABackgroundService, which the EA App needs in order to run.  Disable the rest as described.

    When you reboot your computer, go through the Task Manager's background processes list shutting down any service that doesn't absolutely need to be running, for example anything from MSI Afterburner to RGB software might still be enabled.  If you accidentally kill a critical process and it doesn't restart on its own, just reboot your computer again.

    Don't open anything other than Sims 4 and the EA App while testing, not even a browser window.

    If that doesn't help, please look for new errors in the Reliability Monitor.  Hit Windows key-R and enter "perfmon /rel" without quotes, and you'll see a chart of errors and updates with a column for each day.  Today is on the right.

    Look for an error that happened at exactly the time of your most recent attempt to launch Sims 4, specifically in the clean boot.  If you find one, double-click it to see more details, then copy that info and paste it into a reply here.  If you don't see a new error, check back in an hour or so—the Reliability Monitor doesn't always update right away.

    @LittlePinkDino16  Your dxdiag lists a few generic Windows update errors, and it's a good idea to clean those up.  So please run a couple of basic checks of your Windows system files:

    • Hit Windows key-X
    • Choose either “PowerShell (Administrator)” or “Windows Terminal (Administrator),” whichever option is offered
    • Inside the window that appears, copy and paste “DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth” without quotes, and enter
    • The system will start validating soon. If it throws an error, please list it here
    • After it reaches 100%, hit Windows key-X again
    • Again, choose “PowerShell (Administrator)” or “Windows Terminal (Administrator)”
    • Inside the window, copy and paste “sfc /scannow” without quotes, and enter
    • Post the message you receive here

    Restart your computer, hit Windows key-i, select Update & Security, and click the box to check for updates.  If any install, restart again afterwards.

    The dxdiag does not list any Sims 4 crashes, or any errors that might plausibly prevent the game from opening.  That could be because newer errors crowded them out, so please try again to launch the game and then check the Reliability Monitor.  Hit Windows key-R and enter "perfmon /rel" without quotes, and you'll see a chart of errors and updates with a column for each day.  Today is on the right.

    If you still don't find an error, that means the game is likely being blocked from loading rather than crashing.  In that case, the next step would be to (temporarily) disable your antivirus, clear the EA App's cache:

    repair Sims 4, and try to play without the antivirus running.  As long as you don't do anything else at the same time, your computer should be safe.

    If that doesn't help either, try playing in a new admin Windows account, as a test.  Make it local, as in, don't link it to your Microsoft account.  You'll be able to (try to) launch Sims 4 without reinstalling anything, but your saves and other user data won't be available.

    sfc /scannow: "Windows Resource Protection found corrupt files and successfully repaired them. For online repairs, details are included in the CBS log file located at windir\Logs\CBS\CBS.log. For example C:\Windows\Logs\CBS\CBS.log. For offline repairs, details are included in the log file provided by the /OFFLOGFILE flag."

    Tried your other steps other making a new admin account. Nothing seems to have helped so far. I appreciate all your tips.
