Game takes 30+ min to load game or resume game. No mods.

The past 3 weeks, my game is taking at least 30-45 minutes to load a saved game or resume a previously played game.

I use CC but have never had an issue with any updates up to the month of September. I do not use ANY mods that change my gameplay, I only have CC and again, have never had an issue before or after updates.

Most recently, I had 1 incident where my game would not run as an administrator, ( which is odd because the opposite happened in the Spring where it would ONLY run as administrator. ) But that is an easy fix- I now run the game normally and not as an administrator.

Something in the last 2 updates changed something with the loading times. I know it was the last 2 updates because I was playing my game just fine in the month of August. With CC,  I do have to wait a few minutes for a game to load, but NEVER more than 5 min , usually less. I now wait 30 minutes minimum, if it even loads. Lately it is stuck on the loading screen.

I have removed the Mods folder and the same thing happens- it may open and load to the HOME/ Main screen faster, but loading any Saved game or to Resume a game takes the same amount of time (30+min).  I recently tried New Game and the same happened. This also makes it impossible for me once anything loads to go back from a lot to the World view, as the loading screen never ends and I usually use Task Manager to stop the game. This has been happening for a few weeks now and I've been completely unable to play.

What info can I share to get assistance on this and where do I share it?

  • Alieshaia  Does this happen if you take your computer offline before trying to play?  You can put the EA App in offline mode, then disable wifi and/or disconnect the ethernet cable before pressing Play.

If it doesn't help, please provide a dxdiag.  Click Windows key-R, enter dxdiag in the run box, wait for the scan to finish, click "Save all information," and save the file to your desktop.  From there, you can attach it to a reply using the paper clip (Attachment) icon included with the other formatting buttons.
