game wont launch on new laptop

I'm hoping someone has the answer to this. I bought a new laptop, will include all specs to this post as well as my DxDiag. The Sims 4 will not launch. it goes until just after the Sims 4 logo comes together and then it crashes. I have done everything I can think of.  I have no mods or CC. brand new laptop, clean install. Thanks in advance!!

Computer:

Processor 13th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-1335U (1.30 GHz)

Installed RAM 16.0 GB (15.7 GB usable)

Graphics card Intel(R) Iris(R) Xe Graphics (128 MB)

Storage 168 GB of 477 GB used

System type 64-bit operating system, x64-based processor

Also, I read the pinned post for crashes. I've done all of that (well, the ones I could figure out how to do anyway) so I'm starting to think this may not be an issue with my laptop, but an issue with the game itself. It runs fine on my IMAC and PS5., So that is why I was thinking it might be something with the new set up.

  • I figured it out. when I set up the new laptop, it somehow brought over a lot of files from the old one (I'm guessing from before I disabled OneDrive) and with those, it apparently brought an old sims4 folder. again, I don't understand how or why, but I finally remembered to try deleting the sims4 folder and now the game is launching. thank you, and Please disregard. ;)
