game wont load at all, with or without mods will not load. after update

after the past two updates my game wont work AT ALL and when i say at all i mean i took out my whole mods folder, turned off using mods in game, did everything. before i removed them, it was loading to a black screen and i couldnt get past it. took out all mods and cc and now it loads all the way to where i think i'll be able to play, i click load game and it goes to the main world screen. when i click on my sims home its stuck on the spinning plumbob screen. i literally deleted and redownloaded every single mod and it STILL didnt work. i hate playing without mods.. and it literally won't even let me. should i try uninstalling and reinstalling the sims all together? this sucks. every single update this happens but i always find a way to fix it. this time, since i cant even play no mod literally, im not sure what to do. ive spent so much money and time on this game. bought a new laptop literally ONLY to play sims... if anyone can help please. im not sure what to do ive tried everything putting mods back in one by one, playing no mod, etc. help help help :(

  • Delete the resource.cfg file in your mods folder and start a new game a new one will be created and it will help run the game with mods. Also try offline mode cause the EA app won't launch my game going online but will once I'm off. I think they really did more damage with this new update.

Mine works now but I had to remove the mods to desktop- I also repaired it before removing the mods.

  • gigistar10  Can you load a new save?  Please try for comparison's sake.  It's possible that only your main save is broken, and further that the issue is a removed mod or cc item.

If the new save is fine, please open Documents > Electronic Arts > The Sims 4 and delete any lastexception files you see.  Try again to load the main save, and when it doesn't work, look for a new LE.  If you find one, open it (Notepad is fine), copy the first line of text, and paste it into a reply here.
