game wont open after windows update
I just recently updated my computer to windows 11 and now all of sudden I cant even launch the sims 4, I can launch origin but not the actual game. Every time I try to launch it, I get this message, "C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\MSVCP140.dll is either not designed to run on windows or it contains an error. Try installing the program again using the original installation media or contact your system administrator or the software vendor for support. Error status 0xc000012f." I've uninstalled the sims 4 and origin and it's still not working, I even tried to repair the sims 4 filed and that also didn't work. Please help.
@LizzieLovesGamin The file referenced is part of the newest (2015-2022) VC++ runtimes. So please uninstall your current versions, if you have any, and install new ones. Hit Windows key-i, select Apps, scroll down to the Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributables, click on any version with a date of 2015-2022, and select Uninstall. (Don't touch the earlier versions.) You can download fresh copies here:

You need to install both the x64 and x86 versions, but you can skip the ARM64 version as well as the ones from 2013 and earlier. Restart after you're done and before trying to play.
If that doesn't help, please run a dxdiag and attach it to a post.
