Grim Reaper won't show up!

I had a family consisting of two elders and two young adults. The young adult passed away while becoming "mortified" from a rejected proposal and there was no animation just an urn on the ground and the other family members sobbing around her. The grim reaper never showed up and I was not able to plead for her to stay alive. After a bit of gameplay, I had one of the elders pass away from old age, and again, the reaper did not show up. The urn was on the ground and everyone was sad agin. I'm currently not playing with any mods and am updated to the december patch. Any help would be appreciated.

    Sounds like some kind of corruption.

    I was able to travel and this was the first and second person (I had seen) die. So technically he had never shown up. My current solution to this was to start a brand new game with my saved family and lot. I placed them like they were before and the second of the elders had passed on and the grim reaper showed up. He is now showing up for every death and reaping souls correctly. The only concern was that the save file wasn't big at all (maybe just corrupt?) and he was missing.

    I now have the same issue since the latest November patch: Grim Reaper does not arrive when my sims die. They simply disappear and an urn is left. No one mourns either. They don't even know the sim has died. Everything else in the game works fine. I've seen Grim visit the gym that's it.

    Hi Crin,

    I shut off all my mods, CC and script and replayed the last game when both elders died. Grim Reaper showed up. I don't know which of the CC is causing it, but I think I'll keep them all shut off for now. Thanks for your advice! 🙂
