Help! Computers to play Sims 4

Hi there,

I was wondering if someone can help me by checking this link to let me know if this computer will play the Sims 4 and expansions. Someone is buying me a computer and has given me a quote amount. Is this system a 64 bit? Any help you can give would be so very appreciated. I don't have much of a head for this stuff.

@HawnaKitty  IMO the processor is weak and while the game may play you may have to reduce settings to get acceptable performance. I recommend a computer with an Intel I5 with at least a 2.4MHz clock and a dedicated video processor to take the load off the cpu chip. It doesn't matter if you only play the Sims games. These games are 3D graphical games and require a medium gaming machine for good game play. The base frequency of the I3 is 1.2 GHz with turbo up to 3.4GHz. I don't like the idea of running a cpu at turbo all the time when playing games. This causes the cpu to run hot. The Intel I5 series has more features that enables it to handle data better. This laptop uses integrated graphics unit which is on the same chip as the cpu which will cause the chip to run hotter. This laptop has a resolution of 1600X900. I recommend at least a resolution of 1080 for HD. The higher the resolution of the display the crisper the video and it's easier on the eyes.  HTH

Thank you for the reply. The only thing is I have a strict budget and the specs you are giving me are for a more expensive computer. I will make note of the information you gave me and see what I can find. Again Thank you

@HawnaKitty  What's your budget?  While $700 CAD isn't a lot when you're shopping for a gaming laptop, you could do better on the hardware.  For example, this one is also $700 and has a stronger processor with a faster graphics chip than the one you linked:

It's still not a true gaming laptop, but it should run Sims 4 on medium graphics settings even with all current packs installed.

The graphics chip in these two isn't as fast as the chip in the one above, but in case you want some other options:

Puzzle addict I can't thank you enough for putting all that work into finding a suitable computer for me. The $699.00 sounds perfect!!! Well perfect for me!

You are so kind. We need more people in the Sims like you!
