Help with sims just standing around!

Ever since the latest seasons update, my sims just kind of stand around doing nothing. They do what they need to do to fulfill their needs, but they don’t do anything else on their own anymore without me telling them to. It’s getting really frustrating and I’m about to just give up on the franchise all together... I’ve tried removing my entire mods folder to see if it was a mod, and they still just stood around. I tried repairing my game, they still just stood around. Someone please help! Is there any fix for this?
