Households Won't Load

After the update, I have been unable to access ANY of my households in all of my saves. I've updated my mods, deleted localthumbnail, repaired my game multiple times, and even tried creating new saves with new households and it still won't let me load into them after leaving CAS. Instead, I get Error Code: 110:6ee24dd4:a265622f pop on my screen that tells me to relaunch the game. The only time I can actually load into a household is with the MAXIS-made townies. Is there something I'm not doing or missing?

  • MissTatiBrown  Please try creating a new save with no mods or custom content present, as in, move the Mods folder to the desktop and delete localthumbcache.package (again).  If that works, try loading one of your saves, still with no mods or cc present.  You don't need to save your progress.

If the new save works but the existing one does not, try a double load: load the affected household, receive the error, then try to load it again, without quitting or exiting to the Main Menu.

If you can't load a new save, please try a clean folder.  Move the entire Sims 4 folder out of Documents > Electronic Arts and onto your desktop.  When you launch the game, a clean folder will spawn with no content.  (Your saves and other content will be intact in the folder you've moved but temporarily unread by the game.)  Don't add anything to the new folder yet; just see whether you can start a new save.

Hi, first thank you so much for replying!!! I was so confused about what went wrong since I never had an issue with saves in previous updates. The new save I created without any mods or cc worked so I am happy about that but when I booted up my existing saves and clicked a household I received an error. Then when I loaded it up again it kicked me out of my game so I guess the households are corrupted and I don't know how to recover them :(

  • MissTatiBrown  Did the double load not work on the corrupted households?  If not, are you getting the same error as before?  Can you load a different household within this same save?

Please also go into Documents > Electronic Arts > The Sims 4 and delete any lastexception files you find.  Try again to load an affected household and look for a new LE.  If you see one, please attach it to a reply here.  You'll need to open the file and delete its first line in order for it to attach properly.
