How do you rotate objects

Objects don't rotate by pressing the right mouse key the way they do in The Sims 3. How do you rotate objects when you buy them in The Sims 4?

while holding object use the < > key to rotate

@rumbutter that doesn't work I've tried it just moves my screen in the direction of the keys
