How to play TS4 when Steam is set to offline mode, or when I lose internet?
I own TS4 on Steam. With Origin I was able to play in offline mode or launch my game when my internet would die without any problem.
The infants update is about to come out and I would like to be able to go into offline mode so that I can avoid breaking my modded saves while I wait for a couple mods to update. To do this, Steam itself needs to be in offline mode because it downloads and updates through Steam, not the EA App. I cannot for the life of me figure out a way to get the EA App to launch my game when Steam is in offline mode. It has also been stormy here this year and I've lost internet a number of times, but I can't figure out how to play without internet connection either. I have tried every combination of administrative mode enabled, EA App being in online/offline mode, and Steam being in online/offline mode that I can think of and the ONLY times I can get it to launch is if Steam is in online mode. There is no error that pops up. It just tries to launch, hits the EA App, and then stops trying to launch without the game ever opening.
Please assist, I don't want to not be able to play my saves for who knows how long while waiting for my mods to update...
One of the recent EA App updates appears to have fixed this for me when launching from Steam, so I'm going to mark this as solved. If an issue occurs again I'll just start a new thread since this one fell off anyway. If anyone else was having this problem with Steam specifically, force your EA App to update and try again, it's working for me now.
