@thebooklovingsim Once the game has saved over the files, they're gone. You may happen to have an older backup, whether from MCCC-enabled auto saves or because you at some point used "save as" to rename the save. And if you use OneDrive, you may be able to find older backups on onedrive.com, either in "My files" or the recycle bin.
None of these are guaranteed though. It's entirely possible that your saves are just gone. I know it doesn't help now, but going forward, it's worth making manual backups that you store elsewhere, for example on an external drive or USB stick, so you don't have to worry about a computer problem permanently destroying your data.
