I can only rotate the Sim when in CAS-mode

I've updated the game, and since then, I cannot do anything in CAS. As shown in the picture, all I get is the ability to rotate the Sim (I can also zoom in with the scroller on my mouse), and not to press the sim in order to change anything.

So far I have:

- Updated all the mods that have been updated for the new update.

- Removed the mods that have not been updated (I did not open the game before doing this).

- Removed the CAS background that I had.

- Removed all the mods to see if the problem lies there.

- Removed the localtumbcache twice.

- Repaired the game twice.

- Created a Sim in an existing file, and in a new save file.

- Restarted my laptop.

Does anyone have any idea how I could solve this?

  • @CozyySimmer and @superstringer  If you have any files in ConfigOverride, inside Documents > Electronic Arts > The Sims 4, please remove them.

If that doesn't help, please disable any apps that come with overlays: Steam, Discord, etc. Disable the EA App in-game overlay as well; the option is under Settings > Application.

If that doesn't help either, put the game into windowed mode.

Please also let me know whether your computer runs Windows or macOS.  This is the PC tech forum, so I'm writing as if dealing with Windows, but I've seen a few posts about this in macOS as well.

  • I am also having this issue!  Took out ALL mods, and repaired my game, but still  having this happen.

@puzzlezaddict I disabled the EA overlay, and deleted the one file in the override, and my game is now working as before! Not sure which did it, but it is now working. Thank you so much for your help!

This worked for me! I only removed the document from the ConfigOverride file, and that did the trick for me! Thank you so much!
