I cant install the Sims 4

Hello. When i try to  install the sims 4, then pops up a error:

Error: The VC++ runtime redistributable package was not installed successfully. Setup cannot continue. (1638)

Then in the origin app:  An unexpected error occured. Please retry in a few minutes. Error: 327684: 1

This is weird, because the first time everything was installed, however, I left the computer for the night to get the game, and when I got up in the morning the same error occurred and I could not install anymore, although the system (and sometimes origin) shows that the game is installed . I updated windows, downloaded vcredist.exe (2010 and 2013), ran as administrator ... and it didn't work

I did everything that was written here, but still could not install the Sims 4.

how to solve this problem? Help please!

    Hi @kacperWiedzmin3,

    Thanks for that 🙂

    Let's try this:

    1. Open Control Panel and uninstall the redistributables (Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable) for 2010 and 2013. You might have others, but uninstall only the 2010 and 2013 ones.

    2. Restart your computer.
    3. Go to C:\Program Files (x86)\Origin Games\The Sims 4\__Installer\vc
    4. Open vc2010sp1 \ redist folder
    5. Right click on each of the exe files in that folder and select 'Run as administrator'
    6. Repeat step 5 for the vc2013 \ redist folder
    7. Restart your computer

Try the game now. Any differences? 🙂

  • Hi @kacperWiedzmin3,

    Welcome to Answers HQ!

Let's try to find the problem. Could you please give us more technical information about your computer? A dxdiag would be very helpful. You can find instructions on how to get a dxdiag here, and you can attach it to your answer.

Let us know if you have any questions.

    Thanks! 🙂

Sims 4 needs Origin. You need to download it through Origin.

If you bought a key/DVD, you need to redeem that on Origin.
