I got a promo code, bought sims 4 expansion and it did not work.

Hello! I bought the newest sims 4 expansion pack. The day before yesterday i was having an issue and contacted origin support for some help, after we resolved my issue the advisor i was live chatting with gave me a Promo Code to put into my next purchase which expires this september I recall, I entered the promo code, no error, nothing but the 15 percent off was not added to my purchase, i dont really mind either way, it'd probably at the most remove a dollar since the expansion was half price, but I questioned why this didn't work. I checked the help page on origin to check that I followed the steps correctly. and I did. I'm guessing either the code was fake, the advisor forgot to activate it or something or it was a glitch in the system while i purchased it. either way I'd like to have a bit of an explaination, thanks <3

  • @EA_Mai Looking back at the buying menu, looks like I don't need to scroll down or anything, but I can't remember if I clicked submit or not, If I didn't it should of at least given me a warning seeing I did insert some text into the box asking for a promo code.

  • Hi @EZmereee,

Let me try to help clear this situation. 🙂

Did you get any error messages when you introduced your code? Could you let us know which pack you were trying to purchase?

    Welcome to Answers HQ!

  • @EA_Mai Sorry Mai, but I think you need to re read my post 🙂
I did say there was no error message. The expansion pack is City Living, as I did say in my post I'm not interested in getting refunded 15 %. I am questioning why this happened in the first place. I'm sure it wouldn't of been a big discount anyways, if it was half price or something I'd definitely want it refunded, but in this case it's fine, thanks. <3

You are right, I missed the 'no error' part, sorry about that @EZmereee ☹️  And about the pack... I thought City Living was why you contacted support.

This might sound like a weird question but did you press the Submit button under the code after introducing it? I'm asking because depending on your screen resolution, you would need to scroll down to see it:

    Thanks,

    Mai

    Hi @EZmereee,

Sorry for the wait. I don't know if doing that would be possible, but I will forward your feedback just in case.

If you decide to purchase any other game before September, try the promo code again. If it was not submitted the first time, it should still work.

Have you already tried your new game? 🙂
