I have Sims 4 Premium Edition running on Windows 8. Put in first disc and ran it as suggested. When I went to put in the second disc that auto run file couldnt be found. I went into the Sims 4 files. 2 auto runs and a zip file. Clicked on the auto run file with the Sims green icon as with the zip file gives me lists of
where would you like the file to open into? Thats my question guys. Been waiting for this game for months now a cant even open it. I hope its not the start of things to come....as I love playing this game like everyone we want enjoyment not frustration. Im sure we all appreciate a quick solution to this issue. Disapointed. :womansad:I re booted didnt work.

I installed mine through Origin and at 92% installed it paused and said to put in Disc 2 and it continued to download after discs were swapped.

As I wrote I put the first disc in as the instructions. But I found the problem. ORIGIN WAS THE PROBLEM. After uninstalling orgiin from my computer then just put in the first disc it will load and put in origin again it will load the game put in your code then at 98% will ask for the other disc continue with the prompts and all is good. I have tried this on Windows Vista and Windows 8.1 all good.
Just to let you know. I did try to update Origin first it wouldnt do it. The Windows Vista origin wasnt installed in the first place but ran the game as I mentioned above. On windows 8.1 only first disc installed until I did above.
Interestly to note the people I designed in the demo preview that was emailed to me before game release were still there when I installed the first disc first time around. Now that I deleted origin and installed the game as above the sims I had there are gone but game works so all good. I hope this can help out a few people that are having issues loading the game.
Ok after all this when I click on the desk top icon it asked me to sign into origin so obviously working through there. My understand is that this game can be run without internet what can I do now if I want that option?
- thecharsims12 years agoSeasoned VeteranI agree. I only saw a bunch of zip files as well. It is very confusing. I tried to instal disc 2 directly after disc 1 was complete and nothing happened so I set the disc aside. When I went in game, all the "extra content" that we're suppose to get with the premium edition had indeed showed up in cas and buy mode. Disc 2 never installed though. So what exactly does that disc do is what I'm wondering about. I will get a notification if anything installed and disc 2 did not.
I was also never prompted to insert disc 2 as disc 1 only downloaded via origin and completed fully. I can play my game just fine but the only content that I can really say I saw that did come with the premium edition are the animal hats and odd outfits like the hotdog and clown and a dunce looking hat as well. If there is any other content on disc 2 and others are not getting what they fully paid for like myself (whatever that may be) then I hope this issue is addressed as quickly as possible. Like someone said, we just want to play the game and have fun, not deal with the frustration. It sucks that I can barely download the game or load it up before already having problems with it.
And where's the soundtrack at? Like, I don't understand anything anymore lol - AshyJade12 years agoSeasoned Novice
Mine got to 92% aswell installing with discs through origin. then when prompted to insert disc 2 nothing happened. wouldnt read disc 2 and i waited for an automatic start and everything... so had to cancel install at 92%
still trying to figure out a way to play!

If you're unsure whether you have the game completely installed, just right click the game tile in Origin and select "Verify Game Files" "Check for Updates". The game itself shouldn't launch without having downloaded the latest updates and checked it is complete.
Have you tried downloading the game through Origin?

This solution worked for me!
I deleted anything of Sims 4 in add and remove programs then did this as someone else suggested on here.
I opened internet explorer and went to the www.Origin.com website but did not login. I clicked the little gear wheel in the top right corner of the browser.
Click Internet Options
Click Security Tab
Click Trusted Sites
Click Sites in the little box
A window popped up & had the origin web address in the 'add this website to the zone' box.
Click Add
Click Close
Then I installed it again as per directions and it worked out and asked for the second disc. Have been playing all eve so getting used to the new Sims.
The only thing once you click on the desk top icon it will open by origin having to use the internet. I was sure I heard you dont need the net with this new Sims 4. After reading a lot of posts I havent come across anyone talking about that point. On the upside it works this way.
- Anonymous12 years agoGood to know, enjoy the game. 🙂

Give @aarshiya 's workaround a try if the steps advised in my previous message do not help. 🙂 Use disc one. Open Origin and at the top right go to Origin > Redeem code. Then use the code in the insert of the gma cse, follow instruction and then install using Icon that apprears where all your origin games are.
