@jjsmack84 Let me know if you need more help.
At this point I'm at a loss for what the problem is. I have tried everything I can think of and also every suggestion given to me. EA has been zero helpful. I've played the Sims since forever. I guess I'll have to find something else to play.
Disappointing, considering how much $ I've spent on games and expansion packs...

@jjsmack84 What happens if you try to launch Sims 4 now? If you get the same error code, let me know; if you get a different one, please post a screenshot or the full text.
Please also look for any new errors in the Reliability Monitor. Hit Windows key-R and enter "perfmon /rel" without quotes, and you'll see a chart of errors and updates with a column for each day. Today is on the right.
Look for an error with a timestamp that exactly matches the last time you tried to play, as in today, not yesterday when the EA App wasn't working properly. If you see one, double-click its name, copy the info you see, and paste it here. If you don't see an error, check back in an hour or so—the Reliability Monitor doesn't always update right away. If you still don't see an error, let me know; that's useful information too.

It attempts to launch but freezes up and dumps back into the EA app. No error code.

@jjsmack84 This is an access violation, which is both good news and bad news. The good news is it's not the same error as you were seeing before. The bad news is it's such a generic error that it doesn't really help diagnose the problem.
Please let me know what antivirus you use, if any. If you only use Windows Defender, please disable Controlled Folder Access:
https://crinrict.com/blog/2019/03/windows-10-defender-controlled-folder-access.html
Move the Sims 4 folder out of Documentns > Electronic Arts and onto the desktop (even if it's a new folder), and try again to play.
