  • Hi @noux579bf

moved your post to tech for troubleshooting

Try resetting your user files as described in the factory reset described in this post: http://answers.ea.com/t5/The-Sims-4/FAQ-Troubleshooting-Steps-amp-Known-Issues/m-p/3621199

You won't loose anything. Just make sure to not delete any files  and make a backup.

After renaming, repair your game by right clicking on the game in Origin.

Try on a new game with nothing added back first (start new game). If it works, put back your save game and try again. If it still works, you can start putting stuff back.

    • Options.ini (or just re-set all your settings manually)
    • Tray Folder
    • Screenshots/Videos/Custom music
    • Rest of the save games (leave out slot_00000001.save which is the autosave and no longer needed - if you still have it)
    • Custom content like clothing, hair, skins, make up ....
    • Mods (one by one, making sure they all still work)

The rest does not need putting back, cause they are mostly cache files that recreate or log files that are not needed for the game.

  • Does this happen for every household? There are a number of fixes for this glitch. First I recommend removing all mods and testing to see if the game works, If it doesn't then the problem is an outdated mod and you have to figure out which one, if it still happens then I suggest you repair your game through Origin. If this bug is only happening with some households you can fix it by loading a household that does work and moving the sims from the bugged household into that household and then splitting them up after in manage worlds. If all of your households are bugged you may be able to restore an older save and see if it works, it could be a corrupt save file. If all else fails you may need to save your sims and make a new save file. I wish you the best!

  • @noux579bf I’m having this same problem. I’m stuck on the loading right after trying to open a specific household. I have a feeling that this is a mod that is doing it for me since I just downloaded some. I just want to know how I’m supposed to exit out of the game so I can try and fix it. I’m stuck at this point. I don’t want to restart my computer if it might hurt my game. Lol

@XCoco_LolipopX Probably best. You need to find the mod that's causing the issue and you can only do that by removing it from your mods folder and restarting the game.
  • @crinrict Thanks. I fixed it by now. I already found the mod and deleted it. That wasn’t really what I was asking though. I was asking how to safely close the game while it’s stuck on the loading screen. It’s fine now though I figured it all out.

@XCoco_LolipopX Usually best to press ctl-alt-delete, choose task manger and kill the game trough there

Just putting this here in case someone else has the same question.
