I have the same problem. Downloaded The Sims 4 through Origin and installed. I was so happy that after nearly a year waiting, i could play this game.
But then, it wont launch. I was so frustrated and did every single thing that i could find in this page, in google etc.
I did clean boot and i managed to get the log in for the sims 4 to open in order for me to play the sims but i am not connected to internet when i was in clean boot window.
Then, i log in back using the normal boot, go to my shortcut of The Sims 4 on my desktop, i right click and saw Troubleshoot Compatibility. I just click, let the window do its thing and apprantly what is says was that, The Sims 4 requires Service Pack 2 and what my The Sims 4 was being set up with was Service Pack 3.
Now, i can play my Sims 4 happily.
