Getting the popup "Game License Not Recognized"

As the title says, every single time I try to launch Sims 4 from the EA app, I get that popup saying game license not recognized. After trying and failing for hours to get it fixed, I resorted to online answers and only found a couple of possible solutions on Reddit. There were some people saying to download the game through Steam and then link your EA account to it and it will launch from there. That did work, I can now at least launch and play the game, but now it says all of the DLC I have already purchased through EA needs to be downloaded to install it. How can I transfer the owned DLC through EA to Steam? Or is there simply just a way that I need to redownload it to Steam?
