initialization error at startup
Hi,
I have had this issue since August 2024. Believe me when I say that I have tried EVERYTHING to fix this, but nothing seems to work (deletion of cache, repair, remove mods, like everything that has come up online. I even tried asking ChatGPT) I tried contacting EA through the help portal etc, and surprise surprise: It led me here. I am slowly losing patience, and I am ready to give up fully. Are there any solutions to this?
hiisuiix This error is usually antivirus-related. So please set exceptions in yours for TS4_x64, TS4_DX9_x64, and TS4_Launcher_x64, or the entire Bin folder they're in. Set an exception for EADesktop.exe as well.
You may need to repair the game (in Steam, select Sims 4 > Properties > Installed Files > Verify the integrity of the game files) before setting the exceptions.
If this doesn't help, disable your antivirus, temporarily of course, repair the game again, and try to play. If it works, reenable the AV and set the exceptions above before opening Sims 4 again.
