I'm having a similar problem - I can get past the load screen but not into any households, even if I manage to make it to the map after the initial unsuccessful load.
I've spent two hours doing all the usual fixes: restarting steam, EA, and my laptop, removing all mods, loading old saves, deleting all the cache files, repairing EA, verifying the file integrity on steam. at first i thought it was this household specifically, because this has happened before with them (it fixes itself usually idk), but i tried four different families in three different neighborhoods and two townie families 😭
I'm a little nervous to try deleting save files, but I may try it if they don't update soon. I'm really glad it's not just me though, I had no idea what else to try!
Update: I copied all my save files to the desktop and moved only three files back (one save with two of its most recent versions, which turned out to not even be my legacy family lol) and it wouldn't load either. I managed to get into a lot by removing my Sims 4 folder entirely, but that doesn't really help. It's also stopped jumping me to the map, and I feel like the more I try to fix it when it's an EA problem, the less it works, so that makes me think even more that the problem's on their end. I was going to settle for building tonight, but now it won't even let me on the map lol

Did you try moving the folders that are necessary to save your current games: (those are
- Custom Music (only if you already put some music of your own here)
- Mods
- Saves
- Tray
- Options.ini (This is not a folder. It is a file, which is named Options)
(I think also if you take pics during the game or recording, take those out, too: Recorded movies/clips, and screenshots folders.)
And after moving those folders to another folder on your computer, delete the whole folder "The Sims 4"
C:\Users\[your name/your computer name]\Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4
- after you launch the game, it restores the files back, then shut the game off.Go back to the
C:\Users\[your name/your computer name]\Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4 or wherever you have your saves, etc., and put your files back (saves, mods, Tray folders, and options.ini file.)Let me know if that worked. ❤️
PS. Don't forget about leaving only up to 4 of your last saves
(there's possibility that you can leave more, but the last 4 is what I checked so far, you can try leaving more, then deleting/moving one by one, it shouldn't broke the game anyway.) :)
