I agree with jaybud. Windows 7 doesn't always refresh the windows, so sometimes you have to do in manually.
Sometimes if you delete a file, it still *looks* like the file is still there. The name might still be listed. If you then try to click on it and delete it again, it will tell you the file can't be found, because it's not actually there.
After you delete the files, you refresh the screen. I use F5 to refresh. You can also go to "view" then "refresh". I'm not sure your set-up, but it should be something similar to that. Once you refresh, the file you deleted or moved should be gone.
I would try following luthienrising & rosemow's advice, but refreshing after each change.
