Keyboard commands for fast forward not working?

Please check if your keyboard layout and language is set to "English"
while playing The Sims
It's look like  Sims 4 won't recognize any hot key if keyboard layout in Windows is not set to English

I had this happen to me too but I didn't find a solution for it. I had been using the keyboard commands just fine the other day and then all of a sudden it stopped working. THen, later on in the same game, my keyboard started to magically work again. 

I have the same problem. it just puts the walls down when i press 1 or something.
Im from Sweden so the english keyboard thing i think wont work for me. Tell me if you have a solution. Thank you

Have you made sure you had Num lock on?

This worked for me thanks. Escape twice, who'd a thunk it?
