Lengthen Stairs

I have a 'Problem' in that I have a door on one side of my house with a set of stairs perpendicular to the door. But the question is how do I get the 'platform' part of the stairs to go to the second half of my double door? Please Help

Could you post a screenshot of what you have now? I don't really understand what you're trying to do.

Do you mean make the stairs wider? If so select them in build mode, drag them with the arrow, just like making a roof bigger.
