Looking for a new laptop for sims 4

I am looking for a new computer to play sims 4 since mine keeps crashing. I was searching and found these two laptops: LAPTOP HP PAVILION X360 15-ER1001LA CORE I5 (6Y0K7LA) and LAPTOP LENOVO IDEAPAD ...

@8Tamara8  These are both good choices in the non-gaming laptop category, but the second one is a bit better because it has 16 GB RAM.  The laptops' graphics chips are equivalent, meaning they'd run Sims 4 about the same, plus or minus a few percentage points due to how the manufacturers tune their machines.

The second laptop is showing as unavailable new, and maybe you were considering an open-box or used model anyway.  But if that's not what you want and you can't buy it new, this is a good alternative:

The processor is a bit older but still more than fast enough for Sims 4, it includes the same graphics chip, and it also has 16 GB RAM and 512 GB storage.

I do want to poitn out though that you could get a proper gaming laptop if you prefer.  These are currently on sale and capable of running Sims 4, all current packs included, on ultra graphics settings, with the second and third having a somewhat faster graphics card than the first.

The laptops you linked and others in that same category might handle high graphics settings, but probably not ultra if you install all or most expansions.  On the other hand, if you're looking for a more lightweight laptop, or something less obviously a gaming machine, the two you linked or the one I found would be preferable.

The first two gaming laptops do only have 8 GB RAM, but it's not as limiting as it would be on the others.  The gaming laptops have dedicated graphics cards rather than only a graphics chip integrated into the processor.  A dedicated card has its own video memory rather than borrowing from main memory, so the full 8 GB is available for CPU-related tasks rather than 1-2 GB being reserved for graphics processing.  Also, these laptops can be upgraded to 16 GB fairly easily, now or later, and another 8 GB module might cost $30 or less.  Paying someone to install it can be costly, but you could do it yourself with a little patience.

A desktop gaming computer will perform better than a laptop that costs the same amount for a few reasons, and it's also much more repairable and upgradable.  However, if you'd also need to buy a monitor, a gaming desktop would be out of your preferred price range, at least new.  (Qualify monitors are $100 and up.)  If you're considering a particular used option, feel free to link it so I can take a look.  New options are generally not less than $600 new, although there are much cheaper options on Ebay.

If you have more questions, please feel free to ask.
