Mods not showing in game after reinstalling on the D Drive.

So I had absolutely no space on My C drive where Sims 4 was installed previously, I wanted to move the game to the D Drive and looked it up and saw it was possible to reinstall there. Mostly because everytime I buy a new pack or need to update the game the EA app complains that my C drive is full and I cannot update the game. So, I copied my Mods and CC, saves and custom music into a backup folder away from the original game files, completely reinstalled the game and all its packs (which took forever as I have nearly all the packs and my internet is a bit slow at the moment) and reinserted the save, mods and cc files into the new game file location. Restarted my game, checked the options and made SURE, that the mods and script mods options were selected with the green check. After restarting to apply the options, i noticed my saves weren’t there, (I wasn’t too bothered by this as I create new families and sims all the time) but once in CAS again I have absolutely no option to us Custom Content, it is no where to be seen and my Mods aren’t there either, they don’t even show up on startup. But when I check my game files all my mods and saves are in there! It’s incredibly frustrating and all I want to do is play with my mods after the nightmare of reinstalling the whole game and packs in a new location.
Someone.. please send help as I am at my wits end 😞

  • Ok I messed around in files and managed to get my saves and mods back, but now it’s saying my Expansion packs will not show despite being in the files 🙁 I’ve checked and they’re all there in the game files… I do not want to start my save up again without (apparently) having them installed because it can become corrupted. ☹️

  • @XHiGeminiX  For the original issue, the cause is that Sims 4 will always look for the user folder in Documents > Electronic Arts, and if no Sims 4 folder exists there, it'll create a new one with no content.  You can't simply move your saves and mods to D and expect the game to find them there.  The ways around this are to move all of Documents to D (only if D is also an internal drive; don't move the Documents directory to an external device) or to create a symbolic link pointing the game to the user folder on D.  Both options are covered here:

For the second issue, it sounds like your packs were reinstalled into the wrong folder.  Please run a couple of searches for these packs, starting with EP01 , which is the folder for Get to Work.  Open a File Explorer window, click This PC in the left panel, and enter EP01 in the search field in the upper-right corner.  Wait for the search to finish, then make sure the full file path is showing under each result.  If it's not, expand the window sideways as necessary.  Take a screenshot using Windows key-shift-S and attach it to a reply here.

Please repeat the process for one or two more packs.
