@eppongi  If you can still use Origin, at least temporarily, then yes, this is possible.  (Some players can use it, and some can't.)  Origin has a Locate Game function, so what you can do is copy the game's program files to where you want them to be, open your Origin game library, right-click on the Sims 4 icon, select Locate Game, and point it to the folder where the program files are.  You can download a copy of the Origin installer here:

    https://answers.ea.com/t5/Origin-Client-Web-Technical/Downloading-and-installing-Origin-Windows-and-Mac/m-p/11915666

The EA App does not have this function yet.  If you want to try anyway, you can start the install process, pause it, copy the program files to where you want them installed, and unpause.  The EA App may verify the files instead of downloading them again, or it may just go ahead and download everything anyway.  Outcomes seem to vary.

If you do need to use the EA App, then definitely unplug the external drive before trying to install Sims 4.  The App has trouble when it detects multiple folders with the game's program files, sometimes dumping data into the wrong folder.
