My cats' paws have disappeared!
Product: The Sims 4
Platform: PC
Which language are you playing the game in? English
How often does the bug occur? Costant (100%)
What is your current game version number? 1.67.45.1020
What expansions, game packs, and stuff packs do you have installed? All
What happens when the bug occurs? Both my cats' paws have disappeared after I took them to the vet for neutering and spaying. When it happened to my first cat I thought it had something to do with how he got stuck on the landing of the house once and I had to debug in build mode, but it also happened to my second cat after I got her spayed and I noticed a couple of other animals in the clinic with the same problem.
What do you expect to see? Befooted (befeeted?) pets.
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? Some, but none I expect to interfere with pets. Only pet related mod is Control Your Pets, but I installed this after the problem had already occured.
Did this issue appear after a specific patch or change you made to your system? Yes
Please describe the patch or change you made: Updated my game with the new October 2020 update. My Cats & Dogs expansion is also fairly new and these are my first pets, so I am not certain whether it would have occured before I made the update.
I have tried debugging the pets + repairing the game and all expansions/game packs/stuff packs in Origin. I also tried modifying them in CAS (where the feet are still visible) to see if that would reset them in live mode, but it didn't work.
Hey, thanks for the reply!
It's happening to all animals on all surfaces, both indoors and outdoors, whether they are lying down or standing up (see attachment). It happens in both new and saved games, to played pets and NPCs, in all locations, both before and after travel.
What I do know now is that I was dead wrong about it not being mod or cc related, as the problem did go away when I temporarily removed my entire mods folder. Any tips on how I may narrow it down? If not, I'll go with the 50/50 method 🙂 I don't have any mods or cc items directly related to pets so I can't think of an easy way to identify the culprit.
EDIT: Did 50/50 and identified the problem. No more, uh, footloose pets!
